I recieved a sibelius file with a choir arrangement from a friend. Now, I want to make some changes, and among them is changing the clef of the tenor part from bass clef to tenor clef (i.e. a regular treble/G clef with 8va noted underneath).

Beginning in 1896, Sibelius began to keep a personal catalogue of his works.[5] Throughout his career, he continually curated the collection according to his ever-changing assessment of his own oeuvre, promoting works to or demoting them from the catalogue and filling the resulting availabilities without a strict regard for compositional chronology. The final list of opus numbers, therefore, is an imperfect indicator of his stylistic maturation over time.[5][6] For works without opus numbers, the convention is to follow the supplemental JS numbering system of Fabian Dahlström.[7] A handful of compositions, which primarily date from Sibelius's student years, are without either catalogue designation; they are thus reserved for a supplementary list that follows the sortable table.

Transferring Sibelius Ultimate to a new computer Posted by Actaeon - 27 May 02:28PM Hide picture Can't find anything about this, but I know folks here will be very helpful...I am very shortly due to set up a new iMac and discard the current one.Presumably I need to de-activate Sibelius on the current device first and then somehow install it on the new machine. Is there a clear list of instructions somewhere, please, or will I need to phone the American helpline for the re-installation?Thanks in advance.I have Sibelius Ultimate with Perpetual Licence. I am not planning to use the Apple Migration Assistant, but surely Avid require us to de-activate Sibelius on a device we no longer intend to use? (I will be re-formatting/wiping the hard disc.)My reference to "phoning America" was really to using the British Sibelius telephone number (a geographic one) through which I have clearly been put through to an American call centre, both in needing assistance regarding buying Sibelius Ultimate with Perpetual Licence and, albeit a few years ago, to needing to register/approve Sibelius 6 on a second device. That did, indeed, require their active administration.I assume I have to re-download Avid Link on the new computer and take it from there?I will come back to this thread if there are further questions. Many thanks, again.David Back to top Allthreads Re: Transferring Sibelius Ultimate to a new computer Posted by Robin Walker - 28 May 06:27PM Hide picture > surely Avid require us to de-activate Sibelius on a device we no longer intend to use?For your own benefit, you should de-activate Sibelius on a computer on which you no longer intend to use Sibelius, as that will release one seat from your allowance of two.> My reference to "phoning America" was really to using the British Sibelius telephone number (a geographic one)There is no longer any telephone support for Sibelius in any country.> I assume I have to re-download Avid Link on the new computer and take it from there? No, the Sibelius installer will automatically install Avid Link.-- Sibelius 2022.3/7.5.1/7.1.3/6.2/5.2.5, PhotoScore Ult 2020.1, Windows 10 64-bit 16GB. If you need them because you are installing a second instance of Sibelius 7, go to File/Help in your first installation where they are displayed. Note that System ID is specific to your licence, not to any particular computer. You use the same numbers on both your installations.

If you haven't got an already-installed Sibelius 7 to look at, go to and start the procedure to download the latest Sibelius update. Your old Serial Number will get you started. On the next page, you'll be given your System and Activation numbers. This time, make a note of them!

This happens when the repeat structure of your score is broken. If playback won't get to a section of the score, because you've confused Sibelius with illogical notation, bar numbers stop being shown.

If playback doesn't matter, you can cop out by going to Play/Repeats and clicking "Don't play repeats". Bar numbers will reappear. There's also an option there to set up a manual playback map, which can occasionally be necessary for complex repeat structures. (But make sure a human player would understand the notation. Generally, if Sibelius finds it confusing, so would a live musician.)

But very often the simple fact is that Sibelius 7 Sounds offers a lot of instruments with a lot of articulations for each - even alternative samples for multiple instances of the same instrument - and the Sibelius playback engine has a finite number of "slots" (however much RAM and however powerful your computer).

31 Keyboard Shortcuts in alphabetical order The manual lists the default set of keyboard shortcuts arranged by category. Someone on Facebook requested it arranged alphabetically, so they could easily see what key combinations were used, which were available. The DiatonicTab fonts are a set of small fonts (supporting only digits), which convert a chromatic step number to a diatonic step number. When used as the font for Sibelius Text Style Tablature numbers, they cause diatonic step numbers to be displayed on the TAB staff.

Certain instruments, such as the Mountain Dulcimer (also known as Appalachian Dulcimer), have a fretboard with frets arranged on a diatonic scale: in the case of the traditional Mountain Dulcimer the scale is Mixolydian. Users of such instruments prefer tablature displaying the diatonic step number, rather than the chromatic one.

The DiatonicTab fonts are a set of small fonts (supporting only digits), which use OpenType features to convert a chromatic step number to a diatonic step number. When used as the font for Sibelius Text Style Tablature numbers, they cause diatonic step numbers to be displayed on the TAB staff. Chromatic note pitches intermediate to the basic diatonic steps will be indicated by the diatonic step number below with a + symbol, and if quarter-tone notes are present in the TAB staff, they will appear with or symbols. The score itself remains unchanged (apart from the font selection for tablature numbers): only its external visual rendering changes when viewed or printed. 2ff7e9595c
